Some random tid-bits/notes to introduce myself:

1. My name is Sarah and I'm a 29 year-old female.

2. In order to get along with me, the requirements are easy: you need a brain and you need a sense of humor. Without either, you and I just aren't going to get along.

3. Out of all of the people you will ever meet, I'm probably one of the more extroverted, outgoing ones you'll run across. I have tons of friends and they mean the world to me. If people like that annoy you, we're not going to get along.

4. I live in NY and I grew up here. No, I don't pronounce "coffee" as caw-feeee, but rather cough-ee, the way it is supposed to sound. I don't like people who think all NYers are the way they are often portrayed in movies, books, etc. (i.e. - rude, loud, arrogant, etc.)

5. I work for a small supplement firm. It's supposed to be a 9-5 job, but I'm usually there pretty late. I'm over-worked and stressed with my career, and it's often a subject I tend to bitch and moan about.

6. I have been planning to finish my education in psychology, but recently, I'm not so sure. This is also a subject that I tend to discuss a lot.

7. I have a few different volunteer jobs: I work as a rape crisis counsellor at a local shelter; I deliver meals to homebound senior citizens; I work at a local food bank (not too often - usually just on the holidays); I work with the mental health association in my county doing various things (buddy programs, clerical stuff, etc.) My volunteer jobs are extremely important to me, and they are one of the main reasons that I haven't moved out of NY.

8. When I'm not working or volunteering, you can usually find me hanging out with friends doing one of the following activities (in no particular order): going to the diner and drinking way too much coffee and smoking way too many cigs, bar hopping, playing sports, shooting pool, hitting up Starbucks for coffee, going to parties, wandering around NYC, going to concerts, talking on the phone, spending time outdoors, laxing around at my or their house and/or causing trouble in some various way.

9. I'm all about respecting others. This is my journal and I'm going to write about what I want. Please respect my political views, my religious beliefs, and my feelings on various subjects. While I do have my own opinions, I consider myself an open-minded person and I wouldn't dare bash someone's opinions/thoughts/views on anything. I expect the same of any of my LJ friends.

10. I'm against drama. While some of my good friends might disagree (at least with my life off of this site), this is an online journal. Any drama that is brought about will not be tolerated. I will delete you from my friends list and if necessary, I will report you to the LJ administrators. You've been warned.
